New York Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Deadline Is Fast Approaching
New York law now requires that all New York State employers must ensure that all their employees complete annual sexual harassment prevention training, with the initial training to be completed by not later than October 9th, 2019. Please note, the requirement applies to all New York employers, regardless of size. Further, effective as of October 9, 2018 all New York employers must have adopted written sexual harassment prevention policies. Such policies must include, among other things (i) a complaint form, (ii) anti retaliation provisions, (iii) a procedure for the timely and confidential investigation of complaints that ensures due process for all parties, and (iv) special training for managers and supervisors.
